Summer
The Fourth of July parade and fireworks are the city's biggest day — downtown becomes one long block party. The US Open of Surfing takes over the pier for a week-plus of free spectating, and concert and movie nights rotate through parks and Pacific City all season.
Fall & winter
Fall brings Surf City Days and harvest events at the community centers; winter belongs to the Huntington Harbour Cruise of Lights and the downtown tree lighting. The air show (when scheduled) turns every beach towel into a grandstand seat.
Spring
The Surf City Marathon weekend closes PCH for one of the most scenic family 5Ks anywhere, Easter events pop across the park system, and Junior Lifeguard registration season is its own civic holiday. Dates move year to year — confirm current schedules on official city and event pages before planning around them.
